The following reports are posted in this space to keep Albertans informed about the Land-use Framework development process: Ideas Group: In May of 2006, 15 Albertans from across the province were invited to share their ideas about forming the process for the development of a Land-use Framework. A background document reviewing land management issues was also developed.
Focus Group Reports: From August 2006 to October 2006, small focus groups sessions were held with representatives of land use stakeholder groups from agriculture, municipalities, recreation, industry, environmental, and Aboriginal communities. The summary of the sessions are included in the following reports that are split into three categories:
Cross-sector Forum Report: December 4-6, 2006, 152 Albertans convened in Red Deer to participate in this phase of the Government of Alberta's Land-use Framework initiative. Public Input: More than 3,000 Albertans provided their input on land-use management issues by submitting completed Land-use Framework workbooks. Stakeholder Working Groups: From early June to mid-October, four multi-stakeholder groups worked to identify possible strategies and actions for government to consider as it developed the Land-use Framework.
